New York City - February 21, 2016
Aaron took a bus into the city on Thursday to visit Vanessa. We went as a family to pick him up and spent the day doing some sight seeing in the city. To get into the city, we took the Staton Island Ferry. This gave us a chance to see the Statue of Liberty and an nice view of Manhattan as we approached.
Once we arrived, we visited the 9/11 Memorial and the One World Trade Center. This was fascinating to see because Linda and I have not been to New York since before the attacks.
Next, we wandered over to China Town to get some lunch. Dim Sum was fun because they kept bringing more and more food to eat.
Ian was interested in seeing Belvedere Castle in Central Park. So we toured the castle and wandered toward the south end of the park. There were numerous trails and rocks to climb. http://www.centralpark.com/guide/attractions/belvedere-castle.html
One of things that I was hoping to see is the Apple Store on 5th Avenue. It was pretty cool but very crowded.
Aaron and Vanessa met us at the entrance to the ferry and we departed for home.
