Spinal Surgery - 2012
Apparently the dog's kept me company during my recovery time.
On the trip home from Mount Snow in February of 2012, I notice that my shoulder was in great pain. Went to visit my family doctor and she massaged my arm and prescribed muscle relaxers. After a couple of weeks of pain and difficulty sleeping, I went to OAA to see if there was something wrong with my shoulder. A couple of tests showed that it was not my shoulder but most likely an issue with my spine. Pain meds allowed me to sleep.
The MRI was about the most painful thing that I have experienced in my life. The position that I needed to lie in was exactly the position that caused pain in my neck. This pain radiated out in all directions and down my arms. Images showed a small herniation between c4 and c3 that was pushing on a nerve. We tried physical therapy for a while but my arms were getting noticeably weaker over time. Surgery was scheduled for April and things went well. I was very pleased with the work of the surgeon and staff.
